![]() Pocket PC 2003 with a Wireless Add-on CardStep 1Install your wireless network driver/software that came with your wireless card. Your manufacturer will provide details on how to do this.
Step 2Open 'Settings' from the Start Button and click on the 'Connections' tab. Then click the 'Connections' icon.

To check that your wireless network driver installed correctly, click on the 'Network Card' button toward the bottom of the screen. If the adapter you have installed is not listed, go back to Step 1. Click on the adapter you have just installed and make sure it is set to connect to 'The Internet'.
Click OK to continue. Step 4Click the 'Select Networks' button in the Connections window.
Step 5Click on the 'Edit' button under "My Work Network".
Step 6Now select the 'Proxy Settings' Tab of the 'My Work Network' Settings page. The default settings look like this:
Step 7Check both check boxes and enter "http-proxy.uq.edu.au" in the Proxy server field. Click OK when done.
You can also close any other Settings windows now. If you are in a UQconnect WiFi Zone, chances are you will see it listed under 'Wireless Networks', select 'UQconnect' and check the settings below. If not, select 'Add New Settings'.
Under 'Network Name', enter "UQconnect" (without the quotes) and in the 'Connects To' field, make sure to select 'The Internet'. Next click the 'Authentication' tab.
This is what the Authentication page looks like by default.
Make Sure'The Key is provided for me automatically' option AND THEN the uncheck 'Data Encryption (WEP enabled)'. Step 8Click the 'OK' button and you're done. Next time you are within a UQconnect WiFi Zone, you should be able to access the UQconnect Wireless network.
Your Pocket PC should now be configured to use UQconnect Wireless Network. It is important that you take a few minutes to read through the New Users Guide before continuing.
