New email service

• A user-friendly, name-based email address, rather than one based on your student number
• An email account you will have ‘for life’, meaning you can continue to use it after you finish studying at UQ
• Significantly increased mail quota of 10GB, that allows 20MB attachments
• Easy access via my.UQ
• Easy access from mobile devices

Important information about transferring your account:

• You can access the service via my.UQ
• Emails sent to your old address will be forwarded to your new address

Email+ for Life went live in May 2009. If you have not activated you can do so via the Email+ tab in my.UQ or contact the UQ IT Service Desk. If the Email+ tab is not visible, contact the UQ IT Service Desk.

UQconnect would like to thank the students who responded to the pilot user survey. Your feedback highlighted the need for the following improvements:

• Premium web access client for Safari and Firefox
• A migration tool, which is now available at the UQ IT Service Desk Email+ website
• Better browser compatibility
• An updated my.UQ mail indicator
• POP and IMAP functionality
