Terms and Conditions for Housed Equipment

This service provides clients with a secure and IT dedicated environment, in which to house their equipment. UQconnect has a superior highly managed infrastructure, offering high reliability and high speed connections.

This service provides:

• Controlled, physically secure environment
• Rack space – up to 45RU x 600mm(w) x 800mm (d)
  (One rack unit (ru) is exactly 1.75 inches or approximately 4.4 cm)
• Redundant precision air conditioning
• UPS power
• Ethernet connectivity
• Electronic Mail and DNS services for up to 3 domains
• Access to UQ news server
• Unlimited transmitted traffic
• Backup mail service (storage of Mail in case of link failure)
• Access to equipment during business hours
• Access to equipment outside of business hours via on-call Technician

Please note that this service does not involve maintenance of client equipment.

To request this service complete the Housing of Equipment Form.

To make changes to personnel authorised to access housed equipment complete the Client Equipment Access Authorisation form.

Price

One-off Fee

• Establishment Fee $550

Quarterly Fee

• Rack space rental for server (per rack unit ) $66
• Permanent connection access $750

NB. The above fees will be higher if a 1Gbps connection is required. 

Monthly Fee

• Traffic charge (download only) $0.06 ex GST per MB
• Proxy Traffic charge (received only) $0.10 per MB
• Minimum charge $140 per month
