1)Click [Start]
2)Select 'Settings'
3)Select 'Dial-Up Networking'

4)Double-click on 'Make New Connection' icon

5)Change the name from 'My Connection' to 'UQ'
6) Select the name of the modem which is setup on your computer. This name will vary depending on the brand of modem you are using.
7)Click [Next] to continue

8)Enter '07' as the area code
9)Enter in the the UQconnect national dial in number 0198307170.
10)From the drop down menu select 'Australia (61)'
11)Click [Next] to continue

12)Click 'Finish' to continue

13)Right-click on the 'UQ' icon
14)Select 'Properties'

15)Remove the tick from 'Use area code and Dialing Properties'
16)Click on the 'Networking' tab.

17)Ensure that only 'TCP/IP' is selected and all other options are unticked
18)Click on 'TCP/IP Settings...' to continue

19)Select 'Specify name server addresses'
20)Enter the Primary and Secondary DNS numbers exactly as shown
21)Click [OK] to continue

22)Click [OK] to continue

23)Right-click on the 'UQ' icon
24)Select 'Create Shortcut'

25)Click [Yes] to continue

26)Click on the close window 'X' to return to the desktop

27)Double-click on 'Shortcut to UQ' to begin the dial-up connection process

28)Enter in the Username and Password of your account with UQconnect
29)'Save Password' is optional and can be ticked if desired
30)Click 'Connect' to start the dial in. You may see a 'Connection Established' screen at this stage which is for your information only and can be [closed].
Whilst you are connected you will see an icon: on your systray taskbar (which is normally in the lower right hand corner next to the time). You can right-click on this icon and choose [Disconnect] whenever you wish to terminate the connection.
