Login to myUQ

Go to https://my.uq.edu.au in your web browser

Enter your current student username and password


Click on myMail+ tab

When you click on the yellow myMail+ tab in myUQ a pop-up window will appear taking you to the next step.


Confirm new Email address

Your new email address will be displayed on this screen. This will also be your e-mail username, known as a Windows Live ID

The firstname.lastname is automatically generated by the information you have in SInet.

The output isn't always favorable/correct so you will have an opportunity to request for it to be changed BEFORE you continue.


T's & C's, email password, activation

This is one of the important steps so please take some time and carefully read information on this page as this effects what happens to your student mail.

If you have any questions read over the FAQ and/or contact the ITS HelpDesk.

Once you have understood all the options enter a password for your new @uqconnect.edu.au email account and click [Activate Now].

You will then be taken to Windows Live to finalise your new account information.


Windows Live account information

You'll need to enter your NEW password that you had just set on the previous step.

It's highly recommended that you set a security question and answer. This helps recover passwords and change some account information.

Also recommended that you provide an alternatiave email address. As with the previous option, it helps with future password resets.

DO NOT put your @student.uq.edu.au email address as this gets redirected to your @uqconnect.edu.au mailbox.

Select region as 'Australia' and enter your Date of birth. You will then be prompted to enter state, postcode information.

Finally, last chance for you to decide on accepting Microsoft's Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept your will need to contact the ITS HelpDesk for other arrangements.
