Prerequisites
- To access Exchange Labs, you need the Windows Live ID that was given for use with Exchange Labs and your password. The Windows Live ID account is also your primary e-mail address and includes the name of the domain, for example, firstname.lastname@uqconnect.edu.au). To confirm that your username and password are valid go to: https://outlook.com
- Internet connectivity recommended
The Setup
Set up Microsoft Outlook 2003 for POP3 or IMAP4 access to Exchange Labs.

In Outlook 2003, on the Tools menu, then click Email Accounts... from the menu.

In the E-mail Account window, put the 'dot' next to Add a new e-mail account, then click [Next >] button.

Put the 'dot next to IMAP or POP3 (You might want to use IMAP4 because it supports more features), then click [Next >] button.

On the Internet E-mail Settings window, do the following:
Under User Information-

Next to Your Name enter your name you want people to see when you email them .

Next to E-mail address enter your full e-mail address (This is yourfirstname.yourlastname@uqconnect.edu.au)

On the Internet E-mail Settings window do the following:
Under Server Information-

Next to Incoming mail server: enter;
- for IMAP enter:
imap.exchangelabs.com (recommended)
- for POP3 enter:
pop.exchangelabs.com

Next to Outgoing mail server: enter '
smtp.exchangelabs.com'.

On the Internet E-mail Settings window, do the following:
Under Logon Information-

Next to User Name: enter your email address eg. firstname.lastname@uqconnect.edu.au

Next to Password: enter your password that you were given for Exchange Labs.
- Click the [More Settings...] button.
- Click the 'Outgoing Server' tab and then do the following:
- Tick the 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authenication'
- Ensure that 'use the same setting as my incoming server' option is selected.
- Click the 'Advanced' tab and then do the following:
- Tick 'This server requires and encrypted connection'
- Check that the Incomming Server is set to;
- 993 if your using IMAP
- 995 if your using POP3
- Change the Outgoing Server: Port to '587'.
- Tick 'This server requires and encrypted connection'
- Click the [OK] button
- On the Congratulations screen click Finish.
