- Part 1 - Setting up Eduroam
- Step 1

- 1)Click on the Vista icon
- 2)Click 'Connect To'
- Step 2

- 1)Click 'Set up a connection or network'
- Step 3

- 1)Select 'Manually connect to a network'
- 2)Click [Next] to continue
- Step 4

- 1)Enter 'eduroam'as the network name
- 2)Select 'WPA2-Enterprise' as the security type
- 3)Select 'TKIP' as the encryption type
- 4)Check 'Start this connection automatically' to automatically connect this eduroam network (Optional)
- 5)Click [Next] to continue
- Step 5

- 1)Click 'Change connection settings'
- Step 6

- 1)Click 'Security' tab
- 2)Click [Settings]
- Step 7

- 1)Check 'Connect to these servers:'
- 2)Set the server to 'eduroam.uq.edu.au'
- 3)Ensure 'Thawte Server CA' is checked.
- 4)Click [ OK ].
- Step 8
- Click [ OK ] to close the security settings
- Click [ Close ] to close to return to the desktop.
- Part 2 - Connecting to Eduroam
- Step 1

- 1)Click on the Vista icon
- 2)Click Connect To
- Step 2

- 1)Select the 'eduroam' network.
- 2)Click Connect
- Step 3

- 1)Click 'Enter/select additional log on information'.
- Step 4

- 1)Enter your UQ username in the format 'username@uq.edu.au'.
- 2)Enter your UQ password.
- 3)Click [ OK ] to connect
- This proccess can take some time and it's not unusual to see a message 'This is taking longer than expected'. If you get the same screen as the previous step then it's likely that the username &/or password is incorrect
