Wild pansy is renowned as a mild heart tonic. It is also used to treat high blood pressure, indigestion, colds, induce perspiration and to cleanse the blood.

Wild pansies should be sown in spring or summer where the plants are to grow. The seeds should be pressed into the soil, but left uncovered. Plants self-seed freely. Leggy plants should be cut back to induce bushy growth and further flowers.
