GARAGE SALE.

It’s on this Saturday (4th, that is), from 7 am. Set up Friday. See Sandy for more details. Leave your contributions at the Club any time between now and then.

GATEBALL.

Our Inter Regional Gateball Tournament was held on Sat 7 May. Six teams (from Rockhampton, Caloundra and Ipswich as well as McIlwraith) competed, with Rocky taking home the trophy. It was a great day of friendly competition and a good time was had by all (as the saying goes). Many thanks to the many club members who helped in various ways – setting up the lawns, making sandwiches, helping getting lunch organised, washing up and doing those many tasks that have to be done behind the scenes for a successful event. Well done!

HAGGIS NIGHT.

You mean you don’t know about Haggis Night! Read the Notice Board, mon, and put your name on the list before it’s too late.

UNION MEETING

It has been established that the Secretary, whose job it is to know everybody, does, in fact, know hardly anybody. To help him out we will be organising a meeting of all club members with name tags in large letters. We may have a sausage sizzle or similar and, so it will not be a complete waste of time, may organise some tree pruning, flower bed digging, flower planting, etc. But it will not be a working bee. Definitely not!

COACHING.

We have a number of very new members (and more in the pipeline) who need help. June is putting together a basic coaching course which several of you will be “invited” to attend. The aim is to increase the number of members who occasionally give up their game of golf croquet/ricochet/croquet/gateball to ensure new members get help, enjoy themselves and stay members.

COME AND TRY.

We will shortly be letter boxing the high rises and units around us, inviting them to drop in on the afternoons of Sat 18 June and 25 June. We believe we have a better than average chance of getting new members from this group so be ready to turn out in force to show them how it’s done (and hand around the tea and scones).

That’s all, folks.
