OBJECTIVE
To provide a fun venue for members to follow their interests in "rocks" by conducting field trips, teaching cutting and polishing and displaying results. The overall objective is enjoyment.
COMMUNITY BASED
The Club is community based and family oriented and open to all members of the public. We actively encourage members to join in and have fun as a club member.
CLUB HOUSE
Until we obtained approval from the Brisbane City Council to lease the building at Fernydell Street, Ashgrove we had been without a clubhouse since 1982. It is important for the Club to have a firm base where meetings can be held and small social gatherings conducted in addition to the need for an area in which to learn and practice the skills of the hobby. The clubhouse also has a small library area where members may sit and read books and articles on the topic of gemstones.
MEMBERSHIP
Most of the members are from the Northern and Western Suburbs of Brisbane. Membership fluctuates between 90 and 120 members. Interest falls into one or more of the following:- Social, Field Trips into the Great Outddors, Learning Lapidary Skills
FUNDRAISING
The Club conducts several Fund raising activities throughout the year and from the money raised a yearly donation is made to the Queensland Cancer Fund. Also, monies raised go back into the improvement of the Club facilities, which ultimately provide a better service to our members.
VISITORS

If you are interested in seeing what we do or would like to have a chat about our hobby please phone one of the members listed below and arrange to visit our clubhouse at 46 Ferneydell Street, Ashgrove. There are generally members present on Friday evenings between the hours of 7.30pm and 9.30 pm and every Thursday Morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.

SO, Come and enjoy the Great Outdoors with us, destress and add an extra dimension to those camping holidays.
