PRESENT RULER: Raja DEVI SINGH, Raja Sahib of Asope since 1953.
born 24th October 1927; one of eight Premier Nobles of Marwar (Sirayat); educated at Mayo College, Ajmer; married 1945, Rani Krishna Kumari, died 1995, fourth daughter of HH Maharana Sri BHAWANISINHJI HAMIRSINGHJI of Danta, and has had issue, two sons and four daughters.
  • Kunwar Vijender Singh, born 1948, married 1974, Kunwarani Savitri Kumari, daughter of Thakur Trilok Singh in Haldwani, U.P.
  • Kunwar Prithvi Singh, born 1953, educated at Rajkumar College, Rajkot (1972); married 1988, Kunwarani Raj Shree, daughter of Jhala Rana Natwar Singh of Susner in M.P. He died 1990.
  • Baisa Narendra Kumari [alias Ambika Rani] (eldest daughter), born 1946, married 1974, Raja Rajendra Nath Shah in Nainital.
  • Baisa Vinod Kumari (second daughter), born 1951.
  • Baisa (name unknown) Kumari (third daughter), died in childhood.

PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY:  Founder of the clan was Rao Kumpa of Mewar, died 5th January 1544, whose fourth son, Rao Mandan,was the original grantee of the estate of Asop. Thakur Raj Singh, was 4th in descent, and was the father of Thakur Nahar Singh (Pirthi Singh), ancestor of Thakur Kani Ram, founder of the Thikana. Rulers were...

  • Thakur KANH SINGH 1608/1611, born 1583, the thikana was resumed by Maharaja Gaj Singh of Mewar and was granted to a younger brother, Thakur RAJ SINGH in 1611.
  • Thakur RAJ SINGH 1611/1640, born 1586; married and had issue, eight sons. He died 1640.
  • Thakur PIRTHI SINGH [alias Nahar Khan] 1640/1658, married and had issue, nine sons. He died 1658.

  • Thakur SURAJ MAL 1658/1680, married and had issue. He died 1680.

    • Kunwar Moti Singh, he was granted an appanage.
  • Thakur KIRAT SINGH 1680/1707, born 1653, fell into disfavour with Maharaja Ajit Singh of Mewar in 1707, and the thikana was granted to Thakur Ram Singh, originally of Barlu.
  • Thakur RAM SINGH 1707/- and -/1726, son of Thakur Jait Singh of Barlu (see above), he was granted the estate of Asope after Thakur Kirat Singh was removed by the Maharaja of Mewar; the estate was later confiscated and regranted afterwards to his son in 1726; married and had issue.

              • Thakur Daulat Singh of Netaria, married Thakurani Batianiji Roop Kanwar, and had issue.
                • Kunwar Chain Singh (third son), adopted by Thakur SHIVNATH SINGH (see below), and succeded in 1873 as Rao Bahadur Thakur CHAIN SINGH  of Asope.
    • Kunwar Rugnath Singh (third son), he was granted the estate of Gajsinghpura, married and had issue. He died 1747.
      • Thakur Sangram Singh of Hingol, married and had issue. He died 1799.

  • Thakur SHIVNATH SINGH 1836/1873, born 1829 as Kunwar Shivnath Singh, son of Thakur Mohabbat Singh of Hingoli, he was adopted by the widow of Thakur Bakhtawar Singh as successor; married 1846, Thakurani Chand Kanwar, daughter of Thakur GAMBHIR SINGH of Jhalamand in Jodhpur; and had adoptive issue. He died sp 1873.

  • Rao Bahadur Thakur CHAIN SINGH 1873/1925, born 1860, as Kunwar Chain Singh, third son of Thakur Daulat Singh, son of Thakur Guman Singh of Barnia (see above), he was adopted by Thakur Shivnath Singh as his successor, Rao Bahadur [cr.1911], Member of the Panchayat Court 1874, Member of the State Council 1884, Joint Judge of Sardaran Court in 1894, Member of the Consultative Council 1911; married 1878, Thakurani Son Kanwar, daughter of Rao Bahadur Thakur MANGAL SINGH of Garhi in Alwar, and had issue. He died 1925.

  • Raja FATEH SINGH 1925/1953, born 1st September 1884, Rao Bahadur [cr.1933], married 1stly, 1901, Rani Ratan Kumari, died sp 1904, daughter of Khangarot Thakur Karan Singh of Harsoli in Jaipur, married 2ndly, 1906, Rani Saubhagya Kumari [Sobhag Kanwar], born 27th January 1888, daughter of Thakur BHAGWANT SINGH of Mandawa Line II, and his wife, Thakurani Suraj Kanwar, she had issue, four daughters, married thirdly, 1916, Rani Suraj Kumari, daughter of Urjanot Bhati Thakur Moti Singh of Rampura in Jodhpur, and had issue, three sons and six daughters. He died 1953.

      • Kunwar Narendra Singh, born 1949, married a daughter of Shekhawat Thakur Laxman Singh of Arooka in Jaipur.
      • Kunwar Raghubir Singh, married daughter of Ranawat Thakur Bahadur Singh, brother of Thakur Jagat Singh of Jhalamand in Jodhpur.
      • Kunwar Mahendra Singh, married a daughter of Sodha Thakur Gulab Singh, originally of Umarkot.
      • Kunwar Satyendra Singh, married a daughter of the Baghela Ruler of Lunawada.
      • Kunwar Brijraj Singh, married a daughter of the Thakur Sahib of Lasani in Udaipur.
      • Baisa Laxmi Kumari, married into the Hinta family of Udaipur.
    • Kunwar Sajjan Singh (third son), born 8th February 1933; married 1948, Kunwarani Sire Kanwar, daughter of Thakur Guman Singh (brother of Thakur Harnath Singh of Jakhan), and had issue, two sons and one daughter. He died 1994.
      • Baisa Kanchan Kumari, born 1949, married in Shekhawati, died 1989.
      • Kunwar Kishor Singh, born 1953, married Shekhawat Indra Singh of Poonkh.

    • Baisa Sajan Kanwar (second daughter), married 1926, Kunwar Sultan Singh, eldest son of Rajawat Thakur Balwant Singh of Padam Pura.
    • Baisa Anop Kunwar (third daughter), married Kunwar (later Rawat) HARI SINGH of Bansi in Udaipur, and had issue.
    • Baisa Sugan Kanwar (fourth daughter), married 1930, Thakur Bhairu Singh of Khejarla.
    • Baisa Swarup Kumari (fifth daughter), married 1930, Kunwar Jagat Singh, eldest son of Ranawat Thakur Vijay Singh of Jhalamand.
