PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY:
A larger estate belonging to Champawat Rathores (Aaidanot branch,
Sagatsinhot sub-branch) in Pali pargana, Jodhpur, consisting of
11 villages with a revenue of Rs.
18,525 with double tazim. It was granted to Thakur Dalpat Singh I of
the Champawat family by Maharaja Gaj Singh I of Marwar in 1622. The
Mughal rulers conquered Jodhpur, and the estate was confiscated by them
in 1679, and later regranted in 1706. Estate holders were....
- Thakur DALPAT SINGH I 1622/1665, born 1596, he was the
youngest son of Rao Gopaldasji of Ransigaon (see Daspan), he was granted the estate of
Rohet with 84
villages in 1622 by Maharaja Gaj Singh I of Marwar; he is said to have
taken part in 84 battles during his lifetime; married 1stly, Thakurani
Jaisa Kanwar, daughter of Bhati Thakur Surtan
Singh of Lawera, married 2ndly, Thakurani Ratan Kanwar, daughter of
Hulan Thakur Pratap Singh of
Sojat, married 3rdly, Thakurani Poor Kanwar daughter of Khangarot
Thakur Mahesh Das of Kalak, married 4thly, Thakurani Heer
Kanwar, daughter of Chauhan Thakur Mukund Das of Makrana, married
5thly, Thakurani Heer Kanwar, daughter of Deora Thakur Pratap
Singh of Badgaon, married 6thly, Thakurani Hasti Kanwar, daughter of

three sons. He
died in Rohet in 1665.

and had issue, two sons (ancestors of the Thakurs of Kharda, Sirana,
Khejarli and Rajod estates). He died 1674 in the battle of
Khaibar in 1674

the Thakurs of Auwa, Bithoda, Divandi,

- Kunwar Bhan Singh
- Thakur JAGANNATH SINGH (by Thakurani Heer Kanwar),
married and had issue (see Ahor).
- Thakur KALYAN DAS 1665/1679, he succeeded when the estate
was worth Rs. 22,500; he took part in the battle of Ujjain in 1658
along with his father; the estate confiscated in
1679, when Padshah Aurangzeb of Delhi conquered Jodhpur, and later
regranted to Thakur Sagat Singh in 1706; married Thakurani Maya Kanwar,
daughter of Bhati Thakur Hari Singh of Khejarla, and had issue, three
sons.

- INTERREGNUM (confiscated by
the Mughals) 1679/1706
- Thakur SAGAT SINGH 1706/-, he was a powerful noble of his
time and took part in the battle of Nagor against Rao Mohkam
Singh in 1706, for which, Maharaja Ajit Singh of Jodhpur, granted him
the estate of
Thop, and later in 1706, the estate of Rohet
was regranted with a revenue of Rs. 18,500; married five wives (amongst
whom), (a) Thakurani
Raj Kanwar, daughter of Deora Thakur Mahesh Das, married (b), Thakurani
Bane Kanwar, daughter of Chauhan Thakur Hari Singh of
Chitalwana, married (c), Thakurani Panna Kanwar, daughter of Sodha
Thakur Sher Singh, married (d), Thakurani Vijay Kanwar, daughter of
Chauhan Thakur Raj Singh of Roicha, and had issue, one son.

- Thakur BHAGWAT SINGH, he took part in the battle
of Merta in 1750, on the side of Maharaja Bakhat Singh of Jodhpur; he
remained in
the favour of Maharaja Vijai Singh, whilst other Champawat nobles under
the
leadership of the Thakur Pokhran were allied against the Maharaja;

of Chauhan Thakur Raj Singh Shivdansinhot of Sankhwas, married 2ndly,
Thakurani Nawal Kanwar, daughter of Bhati Thakur Akhai Singh

educated at Mayo College, Ajmer 1904/1911 then with the Imperial Cadet
Corps of Dehra Dun 1911/-; A.D.C. to the Maharajas of Jodhpur in 1914

1922; commissioned in the Sardar Infantry with the rank of Major in
1917,
joined the Sardar Risala (Jodhpur) as 2IC in 1926, promoted to Lt.-Col.
in 1929, and as Commander in the Jodhpur Army, he retired in 1934; won
the Prince of Wales Cup for
Polo in 1922 as a member of the Jodhpur Polo Team; he enjoys Dovri
Tazim
in Jodhpur; married and had issue, four sons.
