Vaeamomataele], 7th Tu'ivakano -/1875, converted to Christianity but
his people rebelled and installed the Chief 'Uhi in his place, 'Uiliami
enlisted the help of the Christian chiefs, Aleamotu'a and Taufa’ahau
for help, and was able to defeat the rebel chief and was re-installed
as the Tu'ivakano; married

of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga (Parliament) from 2001 to 2004,
commenced
studies at Tonga Side School, from which he continued to Tonga High
School, followed by Wesley College in New Zealand. He graduated, in
1974, with
a Teachers College Diploma from Ardmore Teachers College in
New Zealand, and in 1991, with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in
Political
Science, from the Flinders University, in South Australia, prior to
embarking on his political career in 1996, the Hon. Tu’ivakano
has served in the Ministry of Education, for eighteen years, as Officer
responsible for Culture, Youth, and Sports, at the Ministry of
Education,
following a teaching career of seven years, at Tonga High School, as
Head
of the Physical Education. He has also taught at Tailulu College
Nukunuku
Secondary School; married
Hon. Joyce Robyn Sanft [Hon. Siosi Kaho], daughter of Lolo Sanft, and
has issue.
