Below are a small collection of gemstones and minerals, which can be found in Southeastern Queensland. I have included the general areas where they were found, to assist the prospictive fossicker who may wish to visit those areas in search of these beauties. Just remember to look out for snakes, as the area has more than its fair share of them. These snakes are very active in the hot summer months. I have seen King Browns and Typans in this area. So be very careful. However with the stones and minerals, as you can see the prize is well worth the search. Good luck!
